Welcome to The Free Kick Masters 2008 at Reliant Stadium, Houston, TX USA!

This Summer, Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA, added the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ quarter-final soccer games to the year’s long list of major sporting events held in Houston Texas, which includes the Super Bowl, Major League Baseball All-Star Game and National League Championship Series.

On June 17th, 2007, in front of 70,092 Reliant Stadium fans, Mexico’s Jared Borgetti scored in extra time to beat Costa Rica 1-0  and send Mexico to the semi-finals. In the second match, Guadeloupe made two early goals to beat Honduras in a surprise 2-1 upset. Earlier, on June 13th, Honduras beat Cuba 5-0 and Mexico beat Panama 1-0 on a goal by Carlos Salcido at minute 60 at Reliant.

Free Kick Masters 2008 stars Ronaldinho Gaucho and Rafael Marquez are no strangers to Reliant Park. On August 9th, 2006, Barcelona tied America of Mexico with three goals in the last 10 minutes, one from Rafa in the fifth minute and one from Ronaldinho in the 89th minute.

In 2003, a crowd of 70,000 turned out for the U.S. vs. Mexico exhibition match, and was voted the best U.S. Soccer crowd of 2003.

Reliant Stadium matches have featured the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams, the Mexican National Team, Mexican club teams and European powers. Reliant Stadium also hosted matches for the first two editions of InterLiga (2004 and 2005).
 
Since its inauguration, Reliant Stadium has been the home of the Houston Texans of the NFL and also hosted the Super Bowl XXXVIII in February 2004.
